Galaxy S vs iPhone

Iphone versus Galaxy S (Smartphones)

1.      Beginning of SmartPhones
-       The proper definition of smartphone is mobile phone that has capability of computing availability with internet connection features that gives mobility of user without working with computer desktop systems.  Smartphone allows users to run and do multitask applications on users mobiles. Gothenburg, Sweden – March 10, 2011: According to a new research report by Berg Insight, global shipments of smartphones increased 74 percent in 2010 to 295 million units.Berg: Smartphone shipments grew 74% in 2010 | BGR

Global mobile market is growing rapidly and soon it will reach high ends, but as evolution of technologies users are growing also and it will make huge competition between top mobile companies which will concludes fighting each other to win consumer market towards their smartphones.

2.     iPhone 3 vs Galaxy S
-       By looking at both phones, design, size and weight are pretty much similar.  As we go deeper and make comparison in features, iphone3 has larger internal memory of device than Galaxy S but Galaxy has optional microSD slot that can go up as large as 32g. Current consumer market shows Galaxy S has higher rating over iphone3.
It clearly shows Samsung showed they became threat to Apple by catching up with their OS technology as well as other product such as iPad.  Steven Jobs, the director of Apple sued Samsung claiming that South Korean electronics manufacturer have copied the looks and feel of their key products iPhone and iPad (by Gavin Ogden, Tuesday, 19th April, 2011).
Apple’s lawsuit reads, "Rather than innovate and develop its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smart phone products and computer tablets, Samsung chose to copy Apple's technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products.”
The lawsuit won’t do anything for relations between the major company as Samsung is already makes and supplying micro chips for some Apple products.
Even though Apple is striking Samsung, they have made OS linked to Google as Google Android phone is one of key competitor of Apple.  By coming up with ‘Android OS’ system it is biggest threat to Apple iPhones.

3.     Upgrades – iPhone 4 vs Galaxy S
-       Apple’s iPhone 4 boosts a faster processor and better life than 3Gs, design has been also upgraded to better shape compare to 3Gs having easy crack on back of the iPhone.  Lastly they have added the front camera as there was no front motion camera on 3Gs.  But today’s trend is turning over to android smart phones such Samsung Galaxy S.
There are some up and downs by looking at comparison of features for both iPhone 4 and Galaxy S but as consumer perspective concludes 50/50 favor to each individual consumer needs.
Galaxy S promises faster with stunning screen and features a front VGA camera, also quiet similar processor to meet speed requirement to iPhone 4.  It’s been said that Apple might be running the processor at lower clock speed than 1Ghz for battery life.  But there were minor problem with their firmware with GPS circuitry and software are not working. Particularly the Galaxy S models are failing to convert GPS signals into precise coordinates and hence the problems. No home brew solutions have been developed for these problems so far and the hope rests solely on the promised firmware upgrades.
Rumor of iPhone 5
There are some leak of upcoming new generation of iPhone 5 features. Some images have surfaced on Chinese website MIC Gadget that show what appears to be larger screen compare to iPhone 4s.  But this fact could be fake information as this will not be announced until end of 2011.  IPhone 5 will share the design of iPhone 4 and feature mostly internal hardware upgrades.  Earlier this years report indicates iPhone 5 will ship in September 2011 and will feature the same A5 CPU that currently in the iPad 2 model, additionally the new device is expected to sport improved camera and have an enclosure design that is similar otherwise identical to iPhone 4.

4.     Samsung Galaxy S II Announced
-       Fast come back from Samsung with new Galaxy S II that will carry out with Android 2.3 dual-core processor, 8MP camera with and the best Super-AMOLED Plus display screen.  Samsung is proud to bring out to the world the thinnest smartphone available while still delivering on specification and performance.  “BARCELONA, February 13, 2011 – Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, today announced the Galaxy S II a beautiful thin (8.49mm) and lightweight dual core smartphone that combines an unmatched viewing experience with incredible performance”

In conclusion to above comparison facts and figures, it clearly shows Samsung has made a  lot of improvement and gained popularity by showing Galaxy S will soon be biggest competitive smartphone market all over the world.  But still there is one main fact that Samsung needs more effort to catch up Apples reputation on iPhones and iPads to our current markets.  As it still Apple is the most leading front of worlds telecommunication markets, Samsung will be on their tails and other companies will follow further.  There won’t be any confirmed winner of the century.  Race of our smartphone will continue through out all our ages and move even further.
